My Leadership Journey: A Story from Our Founder

I started my career as an engineer with Hewlett-Packard Company. After a few months, I quickly discovered a couple of lessons. First, I learned that I did not have a passion for becoming a great engineer. Second, I learned that a company can fill their offices with the smartest people in the world, but if they aren’t working together as a team then it doesn’t matter very much.

I had the privilege of working in what many considered to be the best company culture in the world, and I watched as disorganization, finger pointing, and unhealthy conflict interfered with productivity. I knew there had to be a better way and I committed myself to studying the principles of teamwork and leadership to find it.

During my 17 years in high-tech, I watched the careers of many people. I saw some who never moved into management, and likely didn’t want to. Years later, I had been working as a project manager and continuing my studies.
